I decided to finish off my Anniversary Celebration by pulling the trigger on a project I’ve been hemming and hawing over for probably a year now.  I covered over the area behind the Senate Building.

After I expanded the Senate, the overhang on the cliff behind it just didn’t feel right, so covering straight across was the best solution.

In doing so, I’ve overhauled the Lagoon beneath, added 3 new buildings to the Waterfront, and added a fancy new Park!

After this was done, for some reason I went along and created one more Tram Station. You can now travel from the Skyport to three different parts of the city!

    Imperial Senate Upgrade

Today I overhauled the home of the Imperial Senate.  They had gotten a case of building-envy over the shiny new Palace of Nations. It really made their once-grand building feel old, and out-dated.

I didn’t have much room to play with, so I decided to just expand the building some. I added a new third floor for the specific purpose of giving it a much grander meeting hall.

I also redesigned my Map Hall so the maps were lit MUCH better than they used to be.  I managed to sneak in some updates on them as well, since some hadn’t been updated in well over a year.

    The Wood Between the Worlds

Today I constructed a new hub for my Minecraft server.  Originally, the hub to the different worlds lived in a section of the Alpha Portal Nexus, but a year or so ago I created a stand-alone world for it, dubbed “The Nexus”.

It was a floating temple-like platform in the end that was just a row of portals to other worlds. It wasn’t very inspired.

I found inspiration in the concept of the “Wood Between the Worlds” from the Chronicles of Narnia, alone with the Neitherlands from The Magicians (which itself was a sort of homage to the aforementioned woods).

We now have our very own Wood Between the Worlds as our hub for accessing the different worlds!

NOTE: I did NOT build the trees or the world, it was something I downloaded. I’m no good with trees!

Tomorrow marks the 8th Anniversary of my Minecraft world, Alpha.

I’ve spent the last several days working on an anniversary project in Imperial City.  I have added a new International District.  The main feature is the Palace of Nations, our version of the U.N.

I’ve also had the other players on my server all build embassies representing their kingdoms in Alpha.

To top it off, I upgraded my little tram line that ran between my main castle and the Senate building.  I relocated the station by the Senate to be by the Skyport. Now you can go by rail from my castle, to the Skyport/Senate, and then along to the new international district.  Progress!
